On July 19, 2024, the Class of 2024 Antai Global Summer Program (AGSP) successfully completed their studies and celebrated their graduation at Antai College of Economics and Management.

Prof. JIANG Ming, Academic Director of the Antai Global Summer Program and Master of International Business Program (MIB), Phil Wang, Director of the International Office, and John Van Fleet, Program Advisor, attended the graduation ceremony and congratulated them all for the successful three weeks at Antai.

The diversity of the Class of 2024 is unparalleled. 40 international students from 18 countries graduated from this year’s summer program. They come from top universities such as the University of British Columbia, Sydney University, Melbourne University, HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, Luiss Business School, KTH, KU Leuven, Higher School of Economics, Singapore Management School, Sungkyunkwan University and so on.

The four component modules of the program, which include in-class lectures, Chinese language learning, Chinese cultural activities, sightseeing tours, and company visits, are well integrated into the three-week class schedule. Featuring "Chinese Business Practices" and "Chinese Culture," the program aims to help students better understand Chinese culture and business from multiple perspectives and enjoy a memorable summer in Shanghai.

“Many people in Europe say that China has surpassed us in many fields, but having witnessed the development and experience life here in China does impress me a lot, and I totally agree that it is true that China is playing a leading role in many areas.” said Anna from Germany and currently studying in the Netherland.

This year, students visited Huawei – a phenomenal and private Chinese company in the tech field, MiHoYo - an SJTU Alumni company whose products enjoy great popularity worldwide, and MedMotion - an ACEM alumnus company, an emerging star in the niche market of sports rehabilitation industry. In addition to topics relating to China's business environment, subjects such as consumer behavior, carbon neutrality, AI, and talent management were also taught and discussed during the program. We are glad to see that students have integrated their takeaways from these company visits and academic lectures into their final capstone project.

Unlike past cohorts, over 90% of this year’s AGSP participants are visiting China for the first time, so the students immensely enjoyed cultural experiences such as tea tasting, paper cutting, and water town excursions.

We are delighted to see that the Antai Global Summer Program functions as an international platform to convene students and young business leaders from around the world to visit and explore China and encourage cross-cultural communication between countries.

“It was amazing that I made my first Swiss friend here in China. I would love to thank this program for bringing us all together.” Andrea from the United States, who’s furthering her master's studies at the University of Zurich this September, told us with excitement. Andrea knows a lot about Chinese mythologies, and she was surprised to see that China is actually so different from what’s going on in Chinatown in New York.

Antai Global Summer Program was launched in 2013, designed to help participants understand China and communicate with the world. AGSP will continue to facilitate as a platform for sharing China-related business knowledge and practices and encourage open dialogues among young people.

Stay tuned for the 2025 Antai Global Summer Program, to be held in July in Shanghai, China.
