2014 Antai Global Summer School Completed Successfully
The 2014 Antai Global Summer Program was successfully held in Shanghai Jiao Tong University on June 30th – July 18th, welcoming 50 international students from 22 countries, including Oman, Egypt, Australia, Brazil, Belgium, Russia, Finland, South Korea, Canada, the Czech Republic, Malaysia, the United States, Mexico, Switzerland, Slovakia , Spain, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Chile, etc.
They come from top universities around the world such as University of Cambridge, University of Warwick, Northwestern University, University of Florida, University of Southern California, University of Sydney, Australia, University of New South Wales, Australia, South Korea, Seoul National University, University of British Columbia and so on. In the master track, more than 50% of the participants are MBA students, with an average age of 29 years old.
The 50 students came to China from all over the world, learning and living together, sharing different cultures, making friends, and finally brought the precious memory in China back to their hometowns. During the 3-week program from June 30th 2014 to July 18th 2014, students learnt in forms of lectures, case study, company visits, corporate seminar and different team activities.
In the three week program, we had corporate speakers to come join the class and to interact with the class in a free and exciting atmosphere. For example, Co-founder and Chairman of Yihaodian, Dr. Yu Gang, spoke to the class about his entrepreneurial experience; founder of an IT consulting company taught how to do analysis and precision marketing with Big Data; senior executives from 3M and Cisco also introduced their latest corporate strategies in the evolving market environment; senior knowledge expert of BCG not only shared his many consulting project experience, but also showed us around real BCG work environment, and students get to do workshops that were tailored for new recruits of BCG employees. Other topics that were introduced in the classes include development trend of China’s real estate, sustainable development of China’s economy, how Chinese companies go global and how MNCs should adjust China strategies.
In addition, the program is featured with traditional Chinese culture activities such as tea-making, calligraphy practice, Chinese language courses, acrobatics show, Zen meditations, family dinner and interesting workshops such as “Dialogue in the Dark’ and etc. The program provides enriched academic learning experience in a top Chinese university as well as valuable cultural experience in a most vibrant city of China.
